Private Argolis Day Tours

Embarking from Athens, our journey unfolds along the captivating coastal road to the Corinth Canal, a remarkable 6-kilometer waterway connecting the Aegean Sea to the Ionian Sea, and serving as a geographical divider between the Peloponnese and the rest of Greece. A brief pause at the Corinth Canal precedes a scenic drive through local villages, leading us to Ancient Corinth. There, we’ll explore the Agora, the Dorian Temple of Apollo (dating back to the 6th century BC), and the museum showcasing mosaic floors, Mycenaean and Corinthian pottery, terra cotta sphinxes, statues, relief plaques, and the Roman head of the goddess Tyche (Luck), along with various artifacts. Our visit will also include the podium where St. Paul faced judgment.

Continuing our sojourn through picturesque villages, we’ll reach Mycenae, featuring the archaeological site, Cyclopean Walls, the Treasure of Atreus (Agamemnon’s beehive tomb), and the iconic Lions Gate. Progressing through the city of Argos, we’ll arrive in Nafplion, a Byzantine gem and the inaugural capital of modern Greece. Nafplion boasts the Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi, offering a potential lunch stop.

Our adventure persists towards Epidaurus, where the renowned ancient theater beckons exploration, celebrated for its exceptional acoustics. To conclude our excursion, we’ll trace the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf, returning to Athens, having traversed a tapestry of history, culture, and natural beauty.
